UPDATE: I've decided that these are most certainly fakes, and I'll not be buying them. Thanks for all the quick help guys, you rock :)

So, I found a guy selling 5 GBA games for $15 on craigslist, but after looking at the picture, I'm suspicious about if these are authentic games or not: http://bend.craigsli...2983047534.html

Notice some of them are a lighter gray, and for me the biggest giveaway is the middle game has an RP sticker on it. They can't release a game without a rating and just leave it RP, can they? Should I buy these or just pass?

I'm not really sure, bring your DS lite or DS or GBA there and test it then buy it. If not, don't or to be more in safe tell him to turn the game on with his ds/dsl/gba

There are several ways to tell original and fake cartridges apart:

1. The colour of the cartridge, it's an immediate give-away.
2. The connectors. There should be a Nintendo logo visible on the PCB, even when the cartridge is closed, at least at a certain angle. If it's not there, it's a fake cartridge.
3. The font. Fake cartridges have fonts that slightly differ from the original ones.
4. Built quality. Fake cartridges simply fall apart easily. The stickers are also often uneven.
5. The screw. Original cartridges should have a screw on the back holding them together, fake ones often don't. The type of the screw also matters - if it's a simple cross then it's obviously a fake. The original cartridges I have all have tri-wing screws on the back.

That, and many more. Seeing that fakes have save issues due to crap batteries in them, I'd say stay away from those, but if they cost next to nothing and you know how to swap batteries, sure, why the hell not.

They look iffy to me, too.

The yoshi's island cart is missing the golden nintendo seal in the bottom right of the logo.

The mario and luigi superstar saga cart doesn't match either of the google image results, as it appears to use the more complex art but with the top faded.

The mario world cart at least, is either fake or the EU version. It lacks the ESRB rating while having an EU approval company thingy stamp on it.

The others I'm not familiar with.

Yeah if the guy responds (he hasn't yet) I'll probably test them before I buy to make sure they at least play fine, then buy them anyways. Hey, I can still play them :P Then I'll examine them to see if they are real or not, and if not, oh well, as long as they work I guess...can't really lose for only $15 for those games.

It's just 5 games, each for $3, and they all look fake to me. It's not a good deal, at all.

Yeah now that I think about it, if I'm gonna buy pirated games, what's the difference than just getting a GBA flashcart or Easy 3in1 and just using that, it's the same legally... I think I'm not gonna bother, not really worth the hassle of driving over and everything. Thanks for the quick replies guys :) Now I just wonder if the seller is purposefully buying pirated games and selling them for profit, or if it's an innocent person that got the games from eBay or someone else and don't realize they're fakes. Guess we'll never know.
