Yabause on Retroarch is decent I've gotten quite a few games to work ok on it. There's no save states on it though. It's a shame we don't have Yaba Sanshiro on Horizon it would probably be much better.

What games did you got working with Yabause. Could you name a few? I tried Guardian heroes myself, but it run to slow down to be playable.

Worked:
Dragon Force
Albert Odyssey
Dark Legend
Golden Axe The Duel
Magic Knight Rayearth
Panzer Dragoon II Zwei
Panzer Dragoon Saga
Shining Force III: 1-3
Shining Wisdom
Shining The Holy Ark
Shinobi Legions
Steep Slope Sliders

Didnt work or had issues:
Fighters Megamix
Deep Fear
Burning Rangers
Astal

Forgot to mention I used frameskip on in Retroarch settings > options to get most of these to work I can't notice that it causes any problems with them.
