Im really paranoid that my shield tablets just going to break. And i need a back up since seems like tablets are out of style now

They should be good enough to run a few games that aren't as graphically intensive. My Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge (which IIRC is on the lower end of the power spectrum) runs games like Persona 3 Portable and Parappa the Rapper at full speed.
