After Minecraft, it's Dragon Quest's turn to be taken by the Pokémon Go fever! Announced today by Square Enix, not much has been revealed about the smartphone AR app, other than it will be available for Android and iOS devices later this year in Japan. However, from the announcement video, it sure looks to function a lot like Pokémon Go, superimposing gaming elements in the real world, but with a Dragon Quest flair, especially when it comes to battles:

Square Enix did not provide a release window for the game nor did the company mention whether the game will be made available outside of Japan.

Although I wished this was just Dragon Quest Monsters GO instead of Dragon Quest GO (always prefered DQM over PKMN).

That trailer is really cool by the way!
Hope this comes to the west. I'd give it a shot. It's more my kind of game than Harry Potter GO (or whatever it's called) and PoGo bores me as well (although I'm still "playing" it at least with go-tcha).

Yeah, especially when DQ is in its renaissance years now IMHO. DQ11 was amazing and so were DQB/DQB2. The more we get the better, I hope for a western release.
