i just found out that if you cut off all power to the wii console, the wiimote will just keep trying to sync with the console until it depletes all of its AA batteries.

what happened was, the wii console froze while i was using the nunchuck+wiimote for gamecube games, the power button didn't work so i had to unplugged the console in order to turn it off. i left the console alone for a whole week because i was busy doing something else, but i noticed that the wiimote was flashing its lights pretty much all day everyday. i didn't think much of it at the time, until today, when i noticed that all the batteries inside the wiimote are depleted.

so i was just thinking, isn't it kind of silly that these wiimotes weren't designed to turn itself off when failing to detect the console for a long duration of time? i mean isn't this kind of a design flaw?

just curious to what your thoughts are on this. :)
