am i right in thinking i simply rename it to boot.dol, stick it on the sd card and run it in the homebrew channel?

i tried it for metroid prime (1:1 pal wiierd) and i still get disc read error during the intro sequence...
ill try different media, unless there is a known fix for this game

yes iam new to this, i only modded my wii a couple of days ago.

thanks

It's most likey the wrong cIOS you have installed or a bad burn which causes your problem. (re)install the rev7(Gamma) cIOS first.

The read retry fix cIOS is a rev6 cIOS, and should be outdated. If you would install it, it would overwrite the cIOS you have installed now. All cIOS use the same location to install to(IOS249) unless stated otherwise.

i originally installed cios 249 released on 25th october 2008 and am using the wad for the backup launcher channel 0.3 gamma which was posted by Forsaekn in that huge thread.

then i installed the read retry posted here

all this on a version 3.3e and ios37

now you can tell me i did something stupid ;-)

i mightve known
smile.gif
after reading something on here i realised that the read retry probably didnt install anyway because i got the "install -1 error" at the end of the process.
is this what im after?
and is that what i had previously installed before i started messing around?

i assume i just run it from the homebrew channel, no need to uninstall anything first right?
man, one day this might all make sense to me...
sorry for so many questions...
