Okay, so the iPhone price dropped $200, from $500 to $300. In a day. Smooth. That money then went to finance all the iPhones given out for free to full-time Apple employees.
Anyway, in order to console all their customers who got ripped off while the phone was still $500, Apple is now giving $100 gift coupons, to be used in Apple stores, on iPhone paraphernalia, to everyone who bought their phone while it was still $500.
So a couple of the aforementioned employees reasoned thusly: "I got an iPhone while it was still $500, gimme coupons for stuff". 800 employees in total, to be exact.
That reasoning turned out to be a bit fuzzy, being severely impeded by greed, because, turns out, they might now get brutally sacked.
Some might say Apple did all this as a sort of elimination process, to get rid of idiots among their staff. At an exchange rate of 1 iPhone per idiot, it was totally worth it.
Discuss.
