Pretty soon all 3D will be done without the aid of glasses. The first generation of 3D televisions are already obsolete.

I heard quite recently that Toshiba planned to release some 'Naked eye 3D' TV models by the end of this year, whatever happens this is why I wouldn't invest in a current 3D TV

Ahh... good old Apple, taking old technology that already exists somewhere else, claiming it as an innovation and then charge it at 3 times to original price.
Thought the same thing v_v
I know a few people who'll be like: "ZOMMFG!!!!!! IZ TEH FEWCHUR!!!"...
Even when other companies are already producing these screens...

I don't get why people love Apple. They're a company who overcharges waaaaayyy too much for the product.
Too true; unfortunately Earth is full of sheep.

Humans, who'd have them?

People, read the patent! This is a tech actually superior to the one Nintendo is gonna use with the 3DS.

Here are the differences:
Patent-Volumetric displays, according to the patent, present images that "appear ghosted or transparent."
-The parallax barrier method "typically requires the observer to remain stationary in one location."
-Dynamically presented holographic images require "far greater computational ability and bandwidth than is generally required for [other autostereoscopic displays]...in real time and at commercially acceptable costs."

This tecnology will not have those issues, that's all

I hope people realize how unlikely it is that this will ever become a product. Apple files countless of patents every year, of which only a fraction gets implemented into their products. All this means is that other companies can't use this idea.

Current technologies for holographic images require powerful CPUs and GPUs to work. This technology has some kind of a workaround for that.
Maybe aggressive hardware optimizations, like dedicated hardware for some of the heaviest functions.
