Well let's make this one the real deal heh.

I haven't played enough Layton to really give a fair judgment and what's worse I haven't even touched Apollo Justice but comparing my limited time (2 hours) with Layton to Phoenix Wright 1 and 2 I'd say Phoenix Wright is the better game.

Layton is fun and all but it just seems to be a bunch of puzzles chained by a story, the puzzles are pretty great but they drive the story and not the other way around. PW on the other hand is driven by it's story and the solution to it's puzzles is tied to the story (obviously), for this, I think PW deserves the vote.

But I might change my opinion once I finish Layton so who knows.

I haven't played Apollo Justice, but Phoenix Wright is definitely better than Professor Layton.

Apollo Justice for me.

Apollo Justice is better than Layton, definitely. But Layton is still a good game

And I can't vote either, but my reason is that I haven't played any of them (not even a singe PW game either).

But for what I have heard and read and seen: I think Layton seems a lill bit funnier!

WHAT WHAT!?
You've... never... played Phoenix Wright... *dies*
And Phoenix Wright definitely has better humour than Layton... lol
But yeah, Layton is still a good game...

Well obviously I can't compare those 2 games since I haven't played Apollo Justice yet...
But if it stays similar to the PW, I prefer Pr Layton anyday!!

Too much useless talking and unlogical stuff in PW... At least in Pr Layton you can solve every single puzzle with logic!

Voted Apollo Justice but really you can't go wrong with either one. I prefer the puzzles in Professor Layton and in its defense I've only played about 3 hours of it so far. That being said, having played the first 3 Ace Attorney games I think it's safe to say that I'll probably enjoy Apollo Justice just slightly more.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
