Just wondering, since its a matter of software, and there are plenty of hacks out there. Sony stated it is a ouput port, but it was never enable cuz of the ps vita tv thing, then got removed for the 2000 serie. If theres nothing for it, its still possible right? via a software, app from homebrew or something? if it ever gets created?

You can only enable HDMI capture via a meticulous hardware mod that only katsu knows how to perform and he's unwilling to share the details. The alternative is buying a Vita capture card.

In the end it would probably be so expensive to set up that you might as well just buy a vita TV with how often they go on sale. Really is a shame they never took advantage of this feature.

But there are games that require the actual Vita to work properly.

Vita TV could have been great a great mini console but it didn't even have backwards compatibility for PSP UMD disc games. :(

Why would you want to shove an optical medium into a microconsole? UMD's were a bad idea from the start, they're unreliable, PSN downloads are superior in every way.

I bought the games (licence) already so don't want to do it again. Guess it's down to hacking Vita TV.

Yeah not sure where you're getting your misinformation but there is no HDMI port on the Vita. There was a bad translation interview where someone said the accessory port allows for video out. That's not possible, the port is a Usb EHCI.
