Anyone uses KingMAX 1GB MicroSD or even the 2GB with the R4/M3Simply? Any positives/negatives?
Unless it's made in Japan, there's a good chance PoR won't run correctly. I you read, you'll know that manufacturer really doesn't make a difference, it's all about the SD-C01G (don't think they made a 2gig)
Just about any SD card should be compatible with R4. Of course, if you wanna use Castlevania PoR as your determining factor, then your choices just got dropped I'm sure both the 1GB and 2GB KingMax work just fine. As far as running Castlevania PoR smoothly, the 2GB KingMax is reported to have freezes with it (link).
You can't buy a japanese kingmax.
They are a taiwanese company that does all the production in taiwan.
I thought the 1GB Kingmax works fine with PoR?
Well for assured best performance, its best you use Kingston (Japan ones), Toshiba (Guarantee made in Japan) or SanDisk Ultra II (Much more pricey compared to the other two).
Dane-Elec cards and certain Apacer are also the SD-C01G Japan cards (ie. the ones you want). Apacer is much like Kingston though, they sell both Japanese and Taiwanese cards.
does anyone have a kingmax 1gb microsd that says kingDISK on it? whats the difference?
