I remember many eons ago they used to be our "rivals," but looking through their threads, it seems like a pretty dead site. What happened to them? And who is our rival now?

http://gbatemp.net/threads/does-gbatemp-have-a-rival-forum.355250/page-2#post-4785064 is surprisingly up to date which surprises me, mainly considering it is retrospective in a 2 and a half year old thread.
So then as before, at the time and that post and now now then probably still http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/forum.php and http://www.maxconsole.com/maxcon_forums/ for the 3ds and wii related stuff. Other consoles never really crossed paths so much, though I suppose http://forums.afterdawn.com/ might be worth looking at.

ds-scene never really competed with them or here in terms of numbers and rivals, at least like newspapers or restaurants in a town or something, was not really a thing either.

What happened? Someone once said "build it and they will come" which can work for some things, not really internet sites though. Build it and ensure you have new content and people will return is more of one for internet things. It was mainly two or three people that even ensured they had new content though and covering everything gets somewhat time consuming and tedious after a while.

Fair enough, but by "ravels," I mean it was the site you saw most of our banned members end up. They did end up sharing a lot of our active members, but you also saw a lot of bitter banned ones end up there. Hell, some of our banned ones ended up staff members over there. I remember there being so rivalry between us or at least some salt between our communities. Now it just seems like their site has slowed to a crawl and we've just moved past them.

I tried to sign up for DS-Scene 7 months ago, still haven't gotten my activation email.
