Anyone play WiiU/Switch with 5.1 surround sound?

I've been looking at HDMI audio extractors, they all seem like cheap Chinese (no offence) with unreliable reviews.
My Sont STR-1200 amp has optical and coax spdif inputs.

Anyone got 5.1 audio working with their console?

I think your amp has hdmi passtrought. It is the way to go for multichannel audio. optical and coax wont work.

It does but reading manual it doesn’t send audio to the speakers, only out the hdmi port. It’s quite an old model.
