Anyone know what this thing is from?

It's weird. I first saw my friend use this as an MSN smiley. Then later on, I started seeing them elsewhere a lot. My friend even found a myspace layout with this thing on it but it doesn't tell you where it's from.

So, since it's been bugging me for awhile now, does anyone know where this thing is from?

Its a series of cute smileys for IM apps I believe, there's a pack with a lot of them.
I think thats the full extent of it really.
