I picked up a New 3DS XL cheap recently with a "faulty touch screen", thinking it would be an easy fix, but it appears the issue isn't with the touch panel itself, but the connector on the motherboard is missing and one of the contacts has been completely stripped. I've tried removing the solder mask to see if there were traces underneath, but I can't see any. I also had a bit of a poke around with a multimeter to check for continuity from the other pins, but didn't find anything there either.
