Just my luck-- the R4i SDHC 1.4.5 for my DSi XL arrived today, and lo and behold, r4i-sdhc.com is down.

If anyone happens to still have the kernel files, could you mirror it somewhere, and post the link here?

Otherwise, I'll buckle down here and wait it out. Thanks in advance for your help.

Woahh, I was searching with Google's cache but that didn't have working download links-- I didn't stop to consider that the wayback machine would. Thank you very much!

PokeAcer already solved the problem, but thanks anyway, gnmmarechal!

Just my luck to, mine is coming tomorrow. I'm looking for r4i-sdhc 3ds rts V1.84b and I didn't see it in the mirror or the archive. Can anyone point me to a download or possibly send it to me? Thanks!

Yeah, there is a v1.84b and apparently works with 3DS firmware 11.1.0.34, which of course mine 3DS is at. Here is screen shot from cache...

Actually, 1.83b works as well. What matters isn't the files on the SD, but the actual firmware of the cart. I assure you, it will work just fine.

Here is a copy of the file I pulled from their website. [dropbox link removed, see edit]
You can get it directly from them using a download manager and their link (http://www.r4i-sdhc.com/R4i-3DS V1.84b English.zip) but it will take a few hours...

Pardon the sketchy single post account, I just got back into this stuff and cannot for the life of me find my old account.

Edit: I removed the dropbox link to prevent confusion as there is a good chance I will break it in the near future. gnmmarechal has uploaded v1.84b here: http://mirror.gs2012.xyz/NDS/FLASHCARTS/R4i-SDHC 3DS RTS - r4i-sdhc.com/

boots_n_cats, thanks a lot! Got it from the dropbox link. :grog:

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Now the question is what happened to them/the site, which is still down.

Their server actually responds to requests every once in awhile. You can get maybe 500KB of the file at a time before the server cuts out for several minutes (which is how I managed to get the file). Probably just technical issues with their web server or DDoS attack.

not a DDoS attack, seems to have been offline for quite a while now.

I can't believe you got me with that

I haven't been gaming for such a long time. Been mostly busy with sleep, hardware tinkering and checking GBAtemp frequently.

Hope you've had a good morning.

It's going alright thanks :) I know what you mean with gaming time. It's precious where I can get it these days.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.

@Maximumbeans, I had a friend who had a glass chess set for their birthday.

It was like all clear and fancy. Tbf I'm not too experienced with chess, but would like to learn someday.
