My lock ups are not caused by hard drive spin downs, I think it's just the loader itself. I can play some games for HOURS with no problems. I load up other games that are 100% compatible and within minutes, my Wii locks up. I have 3.2 firmware and the 1.5 loader (plain one) and still run into these annoying, random lockups. For a few weeks, there was non-stop work on these USB loaders and new version from Waninoko every few days but it all seems to have stopped. These lockups gonna be addressed or should I stick with DVD copies?

i'm using 1.5 and have not had any lockup issues only when my usb drive gets unplugged then after i plug it back in it starts back up again so i would suggest trying another hard drive and preferably a 3.5 one because they don't rely on the wii for power and may also be causing lockups

Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.+1

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
