    DS stands for nothing
Many people think it's Dual Screen or Development System, but both are wrong

I heard officially that it didn't actually stand for anything, but on other occasions they'd say it stood for Developer's System or for Dual Screens, so any of the three is correct.

EDIT: But it will never be "Duel Screens".

How the heck could they both be wrong when if you go to the nintendo web site it says

    What does "DS" stand for?

To our developers, it stands for "Developers' System," since we believe it gives game creators brand new tools which will lead to more innovative games for the world's players.

It can also stand for "Dual Screen."

Sounds like they didn't put much care into naming it but those two have to be the answer

    It actually stands for both.

So your comment saying "wrong" is in itself, wrong.

    Warning: Spoilers inside!

The more I think about it the more the answer should be this

Duel screens + developer's system + Nothing, sense it seems like they didn't seem care much in its name.
Either way there is no one answer for this to me [IMG]

Update: and I demand some one get a better sticker than that one! Maybe one with a giant robot on it ...?

It stands for both Dual Screen and Developers System.

    Directly from Nintendo's own site.
