Anyone else find that after changing game carts several times the cover doesn't snap closed anymore?

Have probably only switched carts a dozen times or so and have not had a problem *yet*. Not confident in the design however.

I've found if I bend it forward the opposite way it kinda reforms it and i can snap it back in. Seems poorly designed. If it really starts to annoy me after my warranty is over I will take it apart and hopefully be able to remove it completely.

I expect the covers to remove themselves at the 13-18 month point (25-30 month in EU). :P

I was expecting that too but apparently the Vita has a similar type of cap and from what people have said it is quite durable and I haven't found any reports of them breaking off so hopefully the Switch one is equally as durable if not functional. I don't want 2 sharp tabs protruding from my Switch or falling inside and rattling around.

Can we get a rough estimate of how many times you switched carts? As most of my titles are downloaded, I've only switched cart once after being disappointed with bomberman.

The vita's cap IS durable, least from my experience as it still works fine even now, but I also haven't put it through hellish conditions. Only switched carts probably 500 times.

I think the cap is just a design thing. I don't think the cartridges are gonna pop off the slot if the cap breaks. The DS/3DS systems don't have a cap.

The 2DS had the best feeling door over the sD card slot, I kinda wish the Switch was the same.

Opened it once to put Zelda in on day 1.
Opened it a second time to put in Disgaea 5 the other day.
Opened it another 3 times to switch between those 2 carts.
I am now about to open it a sixth time.

I just woke it up to switch games and the system has locked up on me lol, had to hard reset. Good thing I always save before walking away.

Just switched carts and it seems to stay closed now, maybe I bent it too far back one time. The slightest touch makes it unsnap though and pop up about a millimeter.

Eh whatever. I just wanted to know if this is a widespread issue or just mine.

Fiddled around with the cover a bit. It does seem flimsy, but of similar or better quality than the vita cover. I'll just be a little more careful with it now.

dude you cant say anything bad about this console, its devoted fans will kick off and try defend its not a cheap nasty pile of crap thats over priced.

i mean even the wireless joycons cant be hated for having shit wireless range, its your fault you should pay extra for the pro controller to then be able to compare the consoles wireless controllers with others devices that dont have this cheap poor quality.

i find the game cards themselves are also cheap and nasty, no idea why the fucking thing sounds loose and rattles inside the cart case.

Classic Nintendo planned-obsolescence, don't worry, they will fix this annnnnnnnnnnd MAYBE put the charge port in a less insane spot in the next model. But hey now, Nintendo isn't just gonna blow their load like that, gotta wait a few cycles for the best experience

To be honest, the only game available for the Switch, TLOZ BOTW, has been stuck in there since release.
I even forgot the thing had a cart slot.
I will report back after April 28th.

PS: Yes I have some digital content like Fast RMX, but what else is out there worth getting on cart? Unless you imported Disgaea 5 then I proceed to STFU.-

no mate, the charge port is perfect where it is, nintendo did sit and carefully plan its design and tested the console to make sure it could be used as intended.......

fyi im taking the piss, you have a very valid point, something an "innovative" company i am sure should have spotted and thought of changing before releasing the console, very retarded to say that such an "innovative" company didnt.

I think everyone has BOTW..... its the only thing really worth playing, love nintendo bragging its the best attach rate title...... erm no shit, thats like sony releasing a console with only uncharted worth playing then saying the same thing.

also not to mention BOTW came bundled with my console so there i that factor to add, and just dance, then i purchased 1 2 switch for the mrs and must say, £60 for zelda is extreme if i purchased it on its own, but £35 for 1 2 switch and all it is, is shitty little mini games.

ohh that was the shit i hated on the wii, which it was littered with..... im hoping its not ground hog day again.

What we really need to remedy this issue is an angled charger plug. That would make it much less annoying, but it would still be hard to use in tabletop mode while charging, although I suppose you could balance it on the plug.

Or just purchase the stand? It's not that expensive and I think the Switch's kickstand is there for "last resort" situations like when you forget your stand.
