Hacking Any way to update backups under SX OS?

I updated tons of games yesterday with only booting it to OFW, why removing the SD card?
Nintendo can't track games app without the card inserted, that's why they ask to insert the card if you want to redeem your Nintendo's points

This is optional of course, but if you remove the sd card prior to updating a game, game update data gets stored on the internal memory of the switch instead of occuying space on the sd card, thus saving valuable space on the sd card for more games or files.

I have auto RCM but only got the OS license no dongle. Left my Switch online while sleeping, still not banned.

Like I said, this was just a theory as to how certain SX OS users got banned. I didn't come up with the idea but I do ask everyone not just if they use it but which type of AutoRCM as well. There's also a possibility that Nintendo can introduce a new firmware update that detects if the BCT is intact or not.

Should still get game and system updates, just no eShop or online.

pretty much if that's the case that I just can't access the eShop anymore or play online with others when banned I wouldn't care because I don't play online with other people anyway I have my PS4 for that.. but if I can't take game updates or system updates and lose the ability to play my games it pretty much renders the console useless and that's what I'm afraid of

Thanks very much for the explanation. After buying the DLC for BotW I really don't need or want anything else from the eShop now but can't rule out getting another clean Switch in the future (have to wait till the new Pokemon game comes out to see what I want todo) so I'd rather unlink now rather than have to call Nintendo and have them do it.

Welp Nintendo threw a wench into my plans, after I updated my scene release of BotW (I have the original, but didn't want to take it out every time to switch games) and unlinked my account my paid DLC stopped working after about a week. Had to relink and update on OFW for the DLC to work again.

This is the method I use to update games and I haven’t had any issues.

1) Select the game(s) you want to update from the sx os menu so it puts it on the main screen.

2) Turn off the switch then remove the sd card.

3) Boot into ofw.

4) Select the game you want to update and press + to update. Note: Update data will be installed on internal memory because the sd card is removed, thus saving precious sd card space.

5) Turn off the switch and insert the sd card.

6) Boot into cfw and select the game from the sx os menu and load it.

7) Enjoy playing the updated game.

As of 8/16/18 Still Ban Free way to update xci at least.

I wouldn't go online under any circumstances with the switch. Expect a ban any time. Nintendo does anything in their power to ban people for any suspicious activity.

There is no reason to go online though. You can update the games with *.nsp packages. If you have an ofw switch from which you know the keys to decrypt its content you can just install the update legit of the game you own and afterwards use fuseegelee (memloader payload) to connect the switch to pc. Make a dump of the prodinfo partition (this is where tickets are stored) and use switchsdtool to extract, convert and repack the updatefiles to an installable .nsp.

It is a bit complicated, but I did it for a game nobody has uploaded the update-files for. Im very impressed how the scene has evolved in such a short time. Now you can pretty much do anything with the switch like on the 3ds. The tools are not the most userfriendly applications I saw but they are improving.
