I want to play my gc backups on a multi gc game disc in neogamma but before I burn all these discs is it necessary to install a mios?.

Yes. Get some Fairy Dust, put it on your Wii, and that's it, you can play your backups. You can now even play Ps3 games...cool, huh?

Basicly, there's a small chance you can brick your Wii with a cMIOS. There's a high chance if you something goes wrong with the Systemmenu IOS and the Systemmenu, but this isn't the case here.

Though, I don't take responsibility if you brick. If you are worried about a brick, install Priiloader or BootMii as Bootv2 and make a NAND-Backup if you want to be 100% safe.

Like they all said above, yeah you need a MIOS for any GC support. For burned games you need a cMIOS.

Installing cMIOS won't brick your wii. Worst that happens is the GC support breaks until you install a normal MIOS again. Like Blue-K said, if you're paranoid install brick protection (which you should have anyway).

I have bootmii as boot 2 and a good nand backup,
This also seems like it might work.
