The original installer installs to slot to 249 without an option to change it but I have that slot set up for another cIOS and don't want to move it.
Is there a way to install cIOS 38v17 to say, slot 240?

    Thanks.

Yeah you can do that with modmii . Just open it type A then press enter , in the new screen type 24917 then enter & finally type the slot you want it to installed in the new screen then enter.

After that just instal the wad generated using your favorite wad manager & you will have it in that slot .

ModMii is but one way but the most common way is to dump the cIOS after it's installed and copy it over to pc. You can use ShowMiiWads to change the IOS slot to 240 or any other if you like. Just make sure under "View" you goto ShowMiiWads not ShowMiiNands when your changing and IOS slot.

ShowMiiWads is pretty simple :) I'm sure ModMii is to just haven't used that feature.

Well, I just finished doing this with ModMii and it was a breeze.
Unfortunately, I still could not get either wiiflow or Mighty Channels to load Super Paper Mario (N64 virtual console) from an emulated nand, but that's another story.
Hopefully d2x will fix this, down the road.

    Thanks again for the tips.

You probably have a corrupt wad installed.
No problem here loading it with d2xv7 final installed.

No problems loading it from an emulated nand or the real nand (real one works fine for me).
    Others have this problem too.
I've re-installed various flavors of d2x to no avail and the game loads just fine from the real nand.
