Any way to get folders on iOS 3.1.3 like on 4.0? I hate categories... Anything I can get from Cydia? I don't want to install a Custom firmware.

Why can't you just update to iOS 4?
Are you on an iPod touch 1st generation?

What do you mean you hate categories?

I don't like categories because its not like folders in almost any way. You press on the folder and it launches an app. I don't want to update to iOS 4 because its going to make my iPod Touch even worse then how it already is.

Get the CategoriesSB app addon. It makes the Categories folders into actual folders, and is much nicer overall.

Interestingly I believe you cannot buy new license for it so you'll need to pirate it if you want to get it.

I can't use the Folders for iOS 3 app if I have SBSettings. And I really want SBSettings toggles. I heard downloading and installing an older version of SBSettings will fix it. I downloaded it but I don't know how to put it into my iPod Touch now? SSH doesn't seem to work.

Find another way to install the old SBSettings and I did. Didn't solve the issue for the broken iOS3 folders for me. Should I just update to 4.0?

acctualy you have to use this version

    install like this

SSH into iPhone – using winSCP if your on Windows , Cyberduck if your on MacOS.
Copy .deb file into tmp folder
    Quit Cydia if its running
Hit Ctrl+T in WinSCP and run the following command : dpkg -i /tmp/name.deb ( just to make sure : you replace name.deb with the actual name of the deb file )
After installation, you can delete the .deb file

I already installed it a different way. But the iOS Folders keeps crashing any ways if I have the old SBSettings. Once I hold an app it crashes and goes to Safe mode.

well which ever one is in private/var/stash/Applications and ones which have all the apps you have. to change permissions you need to ssh into your iDevice navigate to private/var/stash/Applications, right click on the Applications folder and select properties and set permissions to 777 and select "Set group, owner and permission recursively"
