My dad came back from Tokyo Game Show and got me Pokemon White version.

I only have a DSi and it doesn't work. (Duh)

Just wondering if I can bypass it with putting something in the SD slot or whatever if there is such a thing.

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about the region lock. DSi homebrew consists of like two things...neither of which will be able to help in this case.

The best you could probably do is to return the cart and get it for your region when it comes out.

Buy a DS Phat/lite, buy a Japanese DSi, or sell the game.

Out of curiosity, why does the ROM version on a flashcard work on the DSi, but the retail copy doesn't? Does it have something to do with the flashcard tricking the DSi into thinking it's a regular DS? I can play the ROM on my Acekard 2i with my American DSi just fine so I guess I'm kind of confused.

I think the flashcarts run in DS mode (no region lock), while the retail card can run in DSi Enhanced mode (which has a region lock).

I thought as much, but I wasn't quite sure. Thanks.
