Ok..Thanks very much..finally I got some result
I think one of my problems was that my game is EUR..so the id is 0004000000126100 and not 0004000000126300 XD You ambushed me XD
I take gateway save, but didn't work.
I use SDF, rename, import, export, etc etc.. and WORKS!!! I imported and exported extdata 1261 too...Are there others ext data I can import??? (I miss others hunters' guild cards..but I think they are on old SD.. I remembered extdata 1261 from a post in this forum..but I'cant find it now...)
Now, mi situation is:
new3dsxl sysnand 9.0 + GW & Emunand 9.2 boot with ninjhack.
- retail dumped 3dz mh4u EUR
- for play I enter in GW mode and choose the rom from multiROM menu
- the save is a file .sav on sd
1) Now for get the patch I have to looking for in internet, and will I find a .cia file? have I to use bluemenu in emunand like I did with SavedataFiler.cia? Or the .cia I found in internet isn't good for online..and have I to patch it with some complicated method?
2) .Can i play online normally right? my dump has header..it's mine, and I'll never share it..
3) Could I stop here and live happy?
...but now I'd like to use the max potential of GW, CFW etc etc (till now I used to think GW and sky3ds was all the hack world..emunand the only CWF...but I discovered homebrew, more CFWs and other stuffs...)
4) Install BPT seems very complicated...and do Palantine CWF works on n3ds? but do i need it? With procedure of BPT do I convert the save encryp in 6.x?
5) I like the idea to use NTR to connect to eshop..but I don't understood how install it for co-live with emunand and GW...I have to change the save of cubic ninja (now for GW boot), for install NTR boot?
..I can use this procedure to use original cart if i'd like to use phisical cart? No need of Palantine and BPT?
Thanks a lot for the big help... Very kind and very patient
Ah, sorry about the confusion. I should have looked at your location and realized you were running the EUR version.
I'm not really sure what is stored in the extdata. You could try exporting the one on the old SD card and see what happens.
1. If you want the update 1.1 patch on SysNAND, have a look at this. If you're fine with running the game from EmuNAND, an update CIA will work. No patching should be needed. For Gateway Mode an installed CIA and an eShop download are practically identical. Get the right one for your region and it should work.
2. Yes, your private ROM dump should be perfectly safe for online play. The reason people got banned was because of headers shared publicly either via the Sky3DS template file, or via ROMs pre-patched for online that were all using the same public header. Use of personal backups of games you own remains safe, even on the Sky if you create a modified template file with your private headers (I'm glad I purchased most of my used carts before all of this became an issue).
3. Probably. As long as you're happy, that's all that matters.
I never got into CFW either until recently myself, when I read a tutorial on running DSiWare in PBT. And many of the exciting developments are recent. Back in February I was simply using Gateway on my old 3DS (with two cards, one for CIA use, the other for eShop access), and using Sky3DS to run games and Ninjhax (mainly for PRBoom, blargSNES was no match for CatSFC, probably still isn't) on the N3DS. Now, there's so much stuff going on, it's hard to keep up with it all.
4. PBT is only for the old 3DS, but there are several reasons you might want it on there.
One of these is the ability to use SDF with physical carts. This is one of the few ways to get a working save from a cart with a 128K save. Gateway software currently cannot use 128K saves at all, no matter how you rename them. NTR can work, but not if you've been playing a 6.x+ game on 4.x (if MH4U had used a 128K save, PBT would have been the only option to get your save).
There are two other things PBT is useful for. It can run DSiWare ("Zelda 4 Swords Anniversary Edition" for example), and it's also capable of running Ninjhax, so you don't have to keep your EmuNAND on 9.2 just for Ninjhax.
It's more complicated reading about installing it than actually installing it. PBT only requires 4 extra files on your SD card and 1 on the blue card. Palantine is much more complicated, but I've not found a unique use for it, so just use PBT and don't worry about any of that dual EmuNAND stuff. And like I said, you can just use GW mode to install BBM to SysNAND. Don't try to do that thing where you send it from your computer. It rarely works, and is a completely avoidable hassle.
5. Well, NTR can co-exist just fine on the SD card. The files have different names after all. If you only have CN though, that means wiping your save by holding L+R+X+Y and redoing the QR code every time you switch exploits. It takes 3 different exploits just to dump eShop content on the N3DS. You have to use NTR to get the stuff, dump your NAND with Gateway's software, and optionally run Decrypt9 via Ninjhax to get your decTitleKeys.bin if you want the decrypted keys (even if you don't, you still have to run it at least once to get your FAT16 xorpad).
For those reasons, I usually recommend anyone who owns an N3DS to get a Sky3DS. But Gateway just came out with 3.2, with which you can use the DS exploit on the N3DS now. I would advise setting up your NNID before you do that because the option is going to disappear when you downgrade MSET. Also, their guide has a flaw, and will downgrade EmuNAND's MSET if followed as written. Use my trick to disable EmuNAND before you install the CIA, and it will work correctly.
So, now you CAN have both without having to constantly switch QR codes. And yes, I've confirmed eShop access in NTR still works after the MSET downgrade (I knew it should, it's only removing the menu item, the actual settings should remain intact, but I wanted to test it before replying).
