Hacking Question Any point on staying on 2.3.0 firmware?

Apart from the fact that CFW will come much faster to 2.0.0 and 3.0.0, wouldn't it be "better" (in the sense that you can paly more games/play online, until the next update) to update to the latest (4.x something) if they got trustzone hax there?

Not really. Cfw will have emuNAND, which would run latest firmware.

Ah, i though even with truszone it was no going to be possible to spoof firmwares due to the eFuses. Have any of the devs said that could be done or it's just a consequence of the trustezone hax that the efuses can be defeated?

the time line for 2.3 - 3.0 getting CFW is the same, if youre on 2.3 just update to 3.0 so you can at least enjoy HBL sooner

Efuse checks are irrelevant as they only occur at boot. SciresM even stated that recently in one of the threads.

When 2.x to 3.0.0 are in the same time slot for cfw, there isn't a point to stay on 2.x. You can update to 3.0.0 to get hbl now, and when the time comes you'll get cfw at the same time as you would had you stayed on 2.x. At this point it makes more sense to just update to 3.0.0 imo.

Not yet, but you will likely see homebrew pop up before 2.x/3.0.0 get cfw.

If CFW for 2.30 is separate from 3.0 but get released at same time, then wouldn't it be better to stay on 2.30 to avoid the battery draining bug?

One downside is that for some people 3.0.0 has a weird battery bug.

Not "some" people. Eventually, every people will get hit by that bug that impacted me, if they choose to go to 3.0.0.

From what I can tell the battery displays incorrect percentage. Though once cfw happens that likely will be a non-issue anyway
