It's such an incredible game but I never saw anyone talking about it here.
Have you guys played or are playing it? What do you think about the game?
Did you play with japanese or english audio?
Have you guys nicknamed any of your monsters? If yes, what nickame was it?
What's your strongest familiar?
What was the most remarkable thing you guys think that happened in the game?

For me, this is the best game of PS3. I was astounished about how incredible the game is,
it almost seens as we're playing an animated film of ghibli studios.
The story is great, the way it merges gameplay with cutscenes is fantastic,
the way it mix tons of stuff that are in already legendary RPGs and yet it works perfectly and feel just as original.

Actually, there is one thing that makes me sad, my brother accidentaly formatted my PS3,
I dunno how and neither does he, all my progress in more than 5 years playing is gone, including on Ni No Kuni.
I had a Toko double planet, what are the odds of this?

I had catrastoceros, which is the familiar with the biggest attack, it was really incredible,
killing Ulks was a simple task to it. I also had a bone baron, which is also one of the strongest familiars,
I nicknamed it James Bone.

The plot-twists in the game were really surprising for me

Never would imagine the Dark Jinn was Oliver soulmate,
nor that Alicia was his mother, that Horace was actually a grown adult,
or that the sorcerer that helped us was actually the White's Which father

The battle system is atrocious, playing multiple characters is a nightmare.
The story repetetive.
The twists are predictable.

The Art and the music are beautiful, ill give you that.

I agree that the art and music are really great. I didn't think the battle system was *that* bad though. I didn't like trying to capture familiars though... it was just totally random and really time consuming which made it annoying.

I was actually surprised by the plot twists. The first half of the game was a bit slow in my opinion but around Hamelin is when it started picking up. Overall, I think it was a nice game to just sit down and escape to another world. ;)

Finished it and loved it.
However it won't reach to what Eternal Sonata did to me.
Even then, NNK was a really really good game.
Good 80 hours of me life spend on it.

Can't say anything about the story, but I can agree to all the other things.

It sounded like a dream coming true: Ghibli and Level 5 design an game. But good art design can't overact poor mechanics.

I've been playing it off and on, probably have around seven or eight hours clocked. I love it, and as a huge Studio Ghibli AND Level-5 fan, this is just a big treat basket for me. It's been awhile since I picked up any new J-RPG's, I'm glad I didn't miss out on this one.

Nope, none, cba with renaming Familiars.

What's your strongest familiar?
Purrcy the Puss in boots, I love cats, lvl 99 btw

What was the most remarkable thing you guys think that happened in the game?
First time when I entered the overworld.
Dat music <3

It's a shame yer bro formatted yer PS3, I'd bang a fryingpan against his head, several times.
That's why I backup EVERY savegame I have twice (Cloud on 360 and MU and HDD)
PS3, USB and HDD.
Other systems, Either a copy on the SD/MM or a copy on me HDD.

I already knew Jinn was Oliver n his mum was connected to Alicia.
Kinda obvious and predictable.
As for Horace, he's an interesting character

Edit: Already responded.
Forgot I did .-.

I came to act 2 boss (sand) and beat him.

Then my game crashes after 3-5 enemy battles and reset before I killed the boss.
Now Ive to grind alot of time to beat the boss again, i think i died against him like 20 times lol

Phenomenal game. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I actually got really absorbed by the story. The combat was excellent and I actually found it challenging at times, even with Mr. Drippy's helping words. Once you got all out attack, all out defines.. it did become easier.

Also I farmed pretty heavily. I really doubt anyone that doesn't grind a crap load can find this game as easy as some people like to make out.

The side missions were really crap though. would have rather they put a bit more effort into a few more enticing and interesting stories. The overall story was excellent though with some really memorable moments and fights.
