I'm trying to turn one of my old PCs into a sort of arcade cabinet style emulation machine running Lubuntu. I'm having trouble with n64 emulation as Mupen64plus runs through the terminal and doesn't launch like a normal program. Does anyone know of any other n64 emulators that run on Ubuntu? I don't know about Project64 (plus there's the whole controversy of new versiona apparently containing malware).

A nice arcade emulator would be welcome too, FBA 2012 runs smoothly through Retroarch but I'd rather have a standalone one, and the MAME build for Linux's cursor is slow as crap for me. The computer runs PS1 games really well with PCSX so it's old but not useless.

    Use a Mupen64Plus frontend such as M64Py.

Thanks I'll give that a try. Do you know of any good Linux frontend emulator launchers? Attractmode doesn't run for me and I'm not finding any fixes.
