Any Method to Stop Wii U from Asking to Update Every Time I Open It?

I removed the update folder hoping to stop it from asking to update, but unfortunately it still asks me to update every time I open it. Is there a way to prevent it from asking this or do I just have to navigate past the prompts every time?

Is there a reason to do so? I thought the last update for the Wii U had messed up one of the homebrewing methods so I never updated it.

Why not just update, there is no perk on being on lower firmware anymore on the wii u.

nope, all homebrew still works on the latest firmware.

yeah, it's easy to get back. there's even a homebrew for it which I forgot the name of, but you can do it manually, which is what I did going from 5.5.5 to 5.5.6.
