Nobody mentioned The Chronicles of Narnia.
I played it, I classified it into Diablo-like.
(Other games mentioned earlier in the topic is in no mean diablo-like except Baldur's Gate for GBA.
Harvest moon, definitely not, it's an harvest game first.
Children of Mana, regular dungeon RPG.
Contact is not even near it. it's just a normal A-rpg)
For narnia games, there are multi characters controlling, each of them can learn spells, equip weapons and can upgrade them, and all in real-time battle in outside landscape and dungeons.
Narnia DS is the only game from narnia series to be an A-RPG ala diablo. All other narnia games I played was Action only, and not as good.
You will have missions to fulfill for many animals (they are talking animals).
The only problem with Narnia DS is the game is very short and miss more missions and place to visit
