The top screen of my DS is broken (most likely due to a faulty ribbon cable). Since I mostly use my DS as a media player, it wouldn't really matter to me, except that I can't watch any videos because they run on the top screen.

Is there any DPG video player that runs on the bottom screen? If not, is there a way to change Moonshell so it plays videos on the bottom screen?

Well, if I remember correctly, the original moonshell can play the file on the bottom screen (I believe by pressing select and removing the info screen that is now in the picture).

There's a custom version of moonshell made for the same reason.
I don't know where or what it's called, but I'm pretty sure that CannonFoddr or jurassicplayer know of it. They'll probably reply to this as soon as they see it.

I've seen this, know of it - but never knew where to find it .... until now

Did a GBATemp search & found this post which if you follow it down you'll see Jurrasicplayer posted this link of a special Moonshell2 - I guess you could try it out to see if it's what you want

EDIT: dam it 'Stevetry' beat me to it

It says that the file has passed the expiration date of 8/31/2010, even if I set my DS clock back to before that.

Erase Moonshell2 from your MicroSD/HC
Set your DS date to some time before 2010/08/31
Put a fresh copy of Moonshell2 on your card

When I set the date to before 2001, it gives me the expiration date message, but when I set it to 8/20/2010, the file boots.
I'm OK with changing the date back every week or so, but it might get annoying.
Is there a way to disable the expiration date?

You should be able to go as far back as August.

As for disabling the date, unlikely as Moonlight date and checksum protects the files.
You'd have to crack whatever verification check is being done on the file (overlay.dll maybe?).

I'm in need of it because I'm trying to make a macro gba from dsi xl, and playing videos would be nice.
