Now that we have iosu and everything would there be any kind hacker that could investigate a way to make vwii run at the wiiu clock speed? im not asking for hd, gamepad or noone of those things, just asking if anyone can unlock the vwii clock speed to be the wiiu one, i heard there is a function called cpu multiply or something that is used to decrease the processor speed to match the original wii one, so any chance someone atleast trys to make vwii run with wiiu clock speed?

I don't have an answer, but what would you hope to accomplish with that? Better n64 emulation?

every homebrew app that has some lag issues would run much better, same with some games depeding on how they are coded could stop dropping fps.

    That has more cores.
What the OP is looking for is more clock speed.

So not a single dev could make vwii run with the full clock speed of the wiiu? Fix94 said its possible but he hasnt looked too much into it.

It's possible, but I don't think there is a universal clock patch for homebrew. That means that homebrew would run too fast.

I thought the vWii uses an own core (the old original Wii core that is actually on the mainboard as well)?

Wouldn't it be better to port the emulators over to the Wii U where they can take full advantage of the Wii U's hardware?

that is completely false lol, vwii just uses the wiiu cpu but the wiiu cpu has 2 speeds and one is clocked down for vwii, vwii has its own gpu wich is gx but the cpu is shared.

no becuase GX2 wich is wiiu gpu is just uncharted for 3D and no one up to this day made an emulator using GX2 , rethroarch just does software rendering instead of using gx2.

So yeah no dev wants to do the effort of porting their emus to uncharted waters.

I would love for this to happen. I hope someone in the know has a go. Playstation and N64 would get a boost for starters :)

But, would it be possible to develop homebrew with the GX2?

yeah it is but no one has dont any 3d gx2 documenting unfortunely, and now that the wiiu is basicaly dead and everyone is fleeing to the switch or ps4 or whatever, there is barely any devs with the knowledge to code stuff for gx2, if no one has done it yet i doubt anyone will ever do any gx2 emulator at all.

I'm curious if the old GPU output is sent to the new GPU so it's possible to do additional scaling effects along with faster clock speeds, more cores and more memory.

yeah i meant an actual full emulator that is complex with 3d GX2 and not 2d since 2d gx2 is everywhere even on retroarch and the rest and just proof of concept, heck the only 3d gx2 usage is dimoks cube everything else is just 2d gx2 and software rendering.

gx2 is too diferent from gx they arent compatible at all so gx2 wouldnt benefict gx, unless someone made a wraper of gx inside gx2 wich no one will make.
