That wouldnt make any sense.
You need to downgrade the resolution of the video to fit the DS screen

Also, Avi is just a holder, codecs determine the actual content.

For this we have *.dpg *.dsm, and probably some more I cant properly remember.

No, get BatchDPG and convert videos to .DPG instead.

that limits you to 12 fps

it's ok for cartoons (which is what it was intended for) but it's pretty horrible for non-cartoon

I know that, but you can't deny that it handles .avi can you? (even though it's just low-resolution Xvid)

you're really better off with one of the DS video standards as mentioned above.
AVI isn't a single encoding, there are a lot of different types of encoding.
most of which are too complex for the DS, so you'd have to convert the video files to lower quality anyway.

As stated before, Tuna-viDS can handle AVI files with Xvid-encoded video and mono mp3-encoded audio. I've used it before for videos that refused to stay in-sync with any other video playback system for the DS. It's also useful for testing the videos out beforehand, as the output files will play back directly on your computer. The framerate isn't the greatest, but I still like it.

Not necessarily. My 12-minute video file takes up 28 MB at acceptable quality, 50 at the highest quality allowed by tuna-viDS. A similar DPG would probably take up at least 20.

doing a high quality DPG encode, an hour of TV (so like 41-44 minutes of actual video) takes up 95-105 mb of space
