Nice! Was about to make a thread asking for "pirate" games, and that TradeWinds game seems to be something as to what i was looking for.. i guess it's the only on the DS with a Pirate them anyway.FAST6191 said:Elite has been ported to the DS in homebrew form:

If you are after complexity I suggest some of the roguelikes including my favourite in POWDER.

There are also a couple of GBA games and in homebrew like http://filetrip.net/f5226-Trade-Winds.html and commercial offerings in Sea Trader - Rise of Taipan. Elite is also on the GBA in several forms from the same author as the DS one:

There are some other games with growing/trading/crafting systems approaching complex (looking at the likes of harverst moon, rune factory and animal crossing) but nothing major and would take serious effort to fail at/are more grind than anything else.
After this we are back in your typical RPG buying, grinding, selling sort of thing. This being said my knowledge of roms past about 3000 leaves a lot to be desired so there might be something in there.
Edit: You might also like some of the Anno series like Anno 1701: Dawn of Discovery and although trade plays a minor role Civilization Revolution does have similar gameplay ideas as a game progresses.
You know what I look for. I'm very excited from your knowledge. Thanks for help me found new horizon of DS games!QUOTE said:@Njrg I would have to agree with tomrev- there are difficult games but few with anything deep/allowing nuance.
I'm not talking about complexity as in game difficulty. I'm talking about complexity as in the DS being home to many games with "types" of gameplay never seen on any system before.FAST6191 said:@Njrg I would have to agree with tomrev- there are difficult games but few with anything deep/allowing nuance.

Ever played Knights in the Nitemare?
How about Treasure World? No? Didn't think so.
Scribblenauts? Get the point?
Where is this "DS is lack of complexity" actually coming from? I don't remember PSP ever offering something that was truely unique outside of Patapon. And there's not much to be found on DS's little sister, the Wii, either.
If there's a lack of anything on the DS, then every other system is lacking more of the same thing. The DS has as much diversity as a PC when it comes to games.
