Emulating an NDS cartridge, or redirecting it from the SD is not trivial, and would likely require the official SDK. And since Nintendo found it easier to just recompile the few re-released games, this probably isn't going to happen.

In the original DS days, when there were slot 2 flashcarts, ROMs were patched so they read and saved to slot 2. This is probably most comparable to emuNAND on the 3DS: read and write was redirected somewhere else the environment already has native access to. The NDS doesn't have access to the 3DS SD card, so one cannot simply patch it to load from the SD. Maybe if a game was launched in DSi mode it could be redirected, but IIRC, while DSiWare apps have SD access, DSi Enhanced cartridge games do not.

The issue is, there's no way we'll get DS ROM loading, because...
- Person wants to... has no knowledge of 3DS/DSi coding at all (most users here, including me)
- Person wants to, has knowledge of 3DS/DSi coding... still isn't experienced enough (eg Bobesh8)
- Person could but has no interest in doing such a thing
- Person could but is anti piracy (smea)
- Person could but wants people to buy a/their flashcart (Normatt)
- Person could but won't release it (bigger private teams eg SALT)
Can I use that for my sig?

@FIX94 Do you think a tool like this could lead to something as big as TWL exploitation? How exactly were you able to figure out loading GameCube backups on vWii with Nintendont?

Also, how were wii disc reads/writes redirected to SD/USB?
The console on a hardware level was always capable of it, it was just a matter of coding the input method within the IOS you based your custom IOS on, which happened fairly quickly after software exploitation of the Wii was broken wide open (less than a year)

I still don't undestand why it's not possible yet to redirect Slot-1 to SD-Slot and open a wood.nds :/ Apache Thunder had been able to inyect and launch a NDSi NAND (NDSi Menu) right? So, when it opens, it should show a R4i Cart as if it were in Slot-1, or what I am missing?

You mean the original DS Menu, right?

Do you have the link? If not, then it didn't happen. :teach:
@Apache Thunder WAS able to boot into the NTR original DS settings menu - I can look if there's a YouTube link

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

This means that we could probably boot into more TWL system apps
