holy crap....here we go again.
So far, there's no indication of anything more than an accident, so we'll wait and see...
And today is October 11.
It seems like an accident, I only see two floors burning, it must be a really small airplane.
Why is a happy face the thread´s icon?
because thats the icon for the offtopic treads, didnt do that on purpose.
You know, an aircraft's worst enemy is trees, mountains and... skyscrapers. I heard it was a foggy day in NY today.
freaky news - the plane was piloted by NY Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle. Bizarre.
I heard it was part of North Koreas second nuclear test.
"It is believed the pilot of the plane was the starting pitcher for the New York Yankees, Cory Lidle, SKY News reported."
I know nothing about baseball but did a prominant member of the new york yankees just crash their plane?
Whether it was intentional or not it certainly doesn't seem like a terrorist attack, the media will blow it out of proportion because of the symbol of the whole thing.
Reasons it was an accident or some crazy person.
1. It hit an apartment building. 50-floor building on Upper East Side.
2. It hit middle of the day. Its a residental building, so chances are nobody would be home (from what I hear, these are million dollar condos).
3. The "small fixed wing plane" hit the building and "bounced off"...doesnt sound very effective for a terrorist.
All this was established within 15 minutes of the crash.
"There was a mayday, FAA reports, from the pilot involving a problem with fuel before the aircraft crashed into the 50-story high-rise on Manhattan's East Side."
Didnt the FAA say just before this that the plane was not in contact with the tower? This is why athletes should not fly planes...
For what I hear, seems like the pilot was trying to reach the river to "land on water" ,that sounds believeable.
