YO! What's up guys?! Though I'd gone and abandoned the project, didn't ya? Well never fear! Because I am back! Real talk though, I'm sorry I haven't been posting anything for 2 months. It's just that I have been overloaded with work (I have a mandatory internship for my university :|), and my cousins came from overseas so I wanted to spend time with them, and so on. So life really finds a way to happen to you lol. It also took longer because I was developing an app that would make my life a lot easier when editing the text, as it auto indexes everything and modifies the indexes according to text length. (I have no idea if there already is one like it, and there most probably is, but I thought I might put my programming skills to good use :D). Anyways, this is all to tell you that I'm back, and better than ever. Still can't for the life of me figure out how to edit graphics, but we'll get to it when we get to it. For now, here are the updates:
  • The challenge menu is now fully translated down to the last quip. It was kinda hard, because sometimes it would be too long to translate the sentence, and it was a whole spiel. However, I got it done, in a way that I am satisfied with.
  • THE BIG ONE: ALL SUPER AND ULTIMATE ATTACKS HAVE BEEN TRANSLATED IN GAME AND IN COMMAND LIST. Now, granted, some of them are pretty stretch border to border, but nothing that you won't be able to read. When performing the ultimate moves, I only had a problem with krillin. The only way his ultimate name to break it up, so it is CHAIN DEST "enter" RUCTO DISC. Other than that though, they should all be fine.
  • All accessory names have been translated and updated. (Only the names, as they were coincidentally in the same file as the attacks)
  • Stage names have been updated again.
  • Character names have been updated (super saiyan people actually say super saiyan instead of ssj lev.1 and so on).
And that is it for this patch! For the people that have been annoyed by the english voices, I went back to the japanese voices for now, until I actually finish up all the menus and translations, then I will work on the voices. And finally, I hope you enjoy this patch, and I apologize again for the long delay. Here is the link to the patch:

P.S.: Please patch this using the original japanese version. In future updates, I will be using the latest version to patch. So for the next patch, use this version to patch it.

BOIS!!!!!! MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH!!!!!!

So for those who don't know, I've been pretty stumped on how to access and edit the graphics. HOWEVER, that is for the deathkill781 of the past! Thanks to the efforts of an amazing legend, I am now able to edit the graphics of the game! This legend in name is Jonko, he is a rom-hacker that is working on a translation for Suzumiya Haruhi no Chokuretsu and Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekidou (I have no clue if he has a gbatemp account, but here is his youtube channel, PLEASE give him a follow and show him a lot of love: https://www.youtube.com/@jonko0493/).

Anyways, this legend took his time to stream videos that helped me understand how the encryption and compression of this game is actually working. Now while I won't claim to have internalized it completely, I at least understand enough to know what to do with the stuff I need to use, and I am now able to switch out graphics! Really major thanks to this legend of a guy for helping me through this. And of course, now there is more to come! Here is what I was able to work on for today though (it's not much and it's done very amateurly, but I'm no graphic designer :))

As for the rest, I am still in the process of translating the descriptions of everything in the customization menu, but I'm almost done, so you can stay on the lookout for that!

And that is me for today! I'm sorry if the updates seem slow, but I am only a university student doing this in my free time, and my final year is approaching, and I'm in a middle of an internship, so time isn't exactly in abundance. So, please excuse the slowness. In any case, till the next one folks! See ya later!

P.S.: whoever wants to help out with the graphics (*ahem* @verypedro *ahem*) please contact me, as I'd love some help, because I am in no way a pro at this.

As for having different dubs working with it, now that would be too much work on me, as the sound files need to be exactly the same length as the files that I'm replacing, which is proving to be hard to do. Not only that, I need to ensure that the files aren't too big, because if they are, I can't use them, and it would break the sound in the game entirely. If I do use longer files than the original, I am met with some weird corruption in game, and voice stretching, and I've faced a lot of that for now, especially when doing vegeta.
Idk if you already figured a way to avoid this happening, but i suggest using Wav2swav and Nitro Studio 1 instead of Nitro Studio 2, I've heard that NS2 has that tendency to corrupt SDATs

@Psionic Roshambo, CPS II machines were also difficult due to the suicide battery keeping the chips alive containing the decryption keys to decrypt the game. And if the battery died, then the game won't boot.

Honestly with the library of the PS3 and Wii.... For me the Wii wins that gen. I like FPS more on PC so that just kills the PS3 library... Wii had more odd games.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Just my opinion of course
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Most everyone else would pick the PS3
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I bet if someone did a huge detailed survey of what consoles and PCs people owned at the time. It probably would be if someone didn't have a full gaming PC that the PS3 did offer a better experience for them.
