Hello tempers, I've got a question for ya.
I don't watch much anime, but lately I've been itching to find some good stuff. I recently saw the first episode of Death Note on adult swim, and am wanting to know if the rest of the series is as cool as it would seem. It looks awesome, just wanted to know.
Also, what else is good? I'm generally into stuff like Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, Serial Experiments: Lain, Trigun etc
Like I said, I don't watch much but I guess I prefer the Action stuff but not too kiddy. I don't find myself liking Naruto a whole lot.
I still contend that even non-anime fans would like Cowboy Bebop.
I wish I could provide more info about what I want to watch but I really don't know. Action or humor would probably be the best and even mild doses of sci-fi/occult kinda stuff would be sweet too.
Any suggestions?
Given that you mentioned Cowboy Bebop and Trigun, much like someone else, I'm going to suggest Gungrave. It's from the creator of Trigun, and it's just absolutely fantastic. The animation is beautiful and there's more to the story than you could possibly imagine from the name. Much like Trigun after seeing Gungrave it became one of my all-time favorites. I can't recommend it highly enough. It's action-packed, deep, and highly touching. It's simply spectacular. Also, Gungrave, and all of the animes I mention below, are from Madhouse Studios, the animation studio behind Trigun. I consider it one of the best anime studios on the planet, and have enjoyed pretty much everything I've seen them produce.
And with that I'm also going to suggest Gunslinger Girl, Devil May Cry, and Claymore. Gunslinger Girl is absolute perfection and presents you with a highly intriguing, emotional, and warped view of the nature of humanity (and I mean all of that in a positive manner). Whereas Devil May Cry is just a lot of fun, and much like the name suggests, it's based on the games of the same name. The ending of DMC, for me, left a bit to be desired, but everything up until the last two episodes was really enjoyable. And finally Claymore, this series seemingly came out of the blue not too long ago, and on a whim I started watching. I was hooked almost immediately. It's not quite the same as the anime series' I mentioned prior to this, but it is highly engrossing and just sucks you in until the very end.
