I have 3.2, PAL Wii, I downloaded the scrubbed version and then I used WiiScrubber to get the main.dol and then GenericWiiPatcher to remove a #001 incase it had one, I replaced it, and then I ran WiiBrickBlocker again just incase, and then I used RegionFrii to patch it to a PAL ISO. Then, I used the IOS Patcher to make it IOS 30, and then I burnt it at 4x. Works perfectly, even through the disk channel.

All you had to do was IOS patch it, it was already brick blocked and does not need regionfrii, the people having troubles are people with 3.3 Wii version.

Yeah lol... removing an update from a "big release" isn't a good idea. ;P

I agree removing an update was not a good idea, most people by now know how to do it themselves if they need to.

If you have a modchip, are running an NTSC Wii, and don't care about homebrew or installing WADs, can't you just install the included update and play?

That's what i want to know too. Guess we'll have to wait someone test this release (full non-patched)

Also, the ones using the Scrubbed version and can't get it to work with the IOS patch, it's because you have 3.3 (V1). I guess the IOS patch fake-signs the iso some way and you only can get it to work using GeckoOS. So that's why 3.2 people can run it with the disc-channel (trucha still works).

Wont work if you have modchip.
You would need to use the gecko os.

You would need to use the gecko os.

It WILL work from the disc channel if you IOS patch it... Since you have 3.2 you won't get the disc read error.

I think you have to input 30 (to use IOS30). Haven't tested it myself because i have 3.3U.

Good luck

How is GeckoOS working for some people?

Doesn't GeckoOS detect the correct IOS the game uses and loads it? If IOS38 isn't installed on your Wii, GeckoOS shouldn't work either.

Only makes sense to me if they patched the ISO to IOS30 beforehand.

I can confirm it, it works, you simply drag the ISO onto the patcher, type 30 and press enter, then burn. I have 3.2E wii

Gecko OS bypasses the IOS check as far as I can tell, that is how it works.

QUOTEThe decryption is done by the hardware, not in software and the correct IOS version of the game booting is selected and used. This is done by reading the information off the DVD using the low level read commands and then passed back to the starlet.

Shouldn't GeckoOS crash when the game tells it to find IOS38 and it can't find it?

Unless GeckoOS uses an alternate IOS, when it can't find the proper one.

what version is your Wii? You only need the non brickblocked version if you have 3.3. If you have 3.2 or less you can just IOS patch it.

To use Gecko you run it through hombrew channel, put the game in and just click play, as simple as that,

3.4? Are you living in the Future?

The newest one is 3.3 v2...

I also have 3.3 (v1), and I'm using GeckoOs...it's not so hard...and maybe soon there will be an auto-boot version of it, so no difference then...
