I somehow got the QR machine to crash. I know nothing about exploits, or how to execute arbitrary code, but this QR code was created by hex editing a .acnl file and then uploading it to https://www.thulinma.com/acnl/ then re generating the QR code.

could this lead to a new entry point? I left the debug info at the end of the video.

it might be possible to get an exploit out of this, however, just because the games crashes after scanning it, does not mean that it is an exploit. It might be, it might not be.

It isn't enough to crash the game, you gotta know exactly what's causing the crash. You can throw garbage data at anything and expect a crash. You need to know if there's an overflow of some kind where arbitrary code can be executed, or some other kind of vector. Also, this has been said hundreds of times before, but a QR scanner doesn't automatically imply the game is vulnerable.
