CHANGE ISLAND NATIVE FRUIT
I finally had a chance to come back and do some more digging at things, and successfully tested changing island native fruit / town fruit with NHSE. There's two places in the Map editor that fruit has to be changed for it to function properly, but following these steps will allow you to change your island fruit not only on your passport but actually in the game as well, so that other NPCs acknowledge the change, etc.
Firstly, of course, don't forget to change your Passport fruit:
Once that's complete, there's another TWO locations, as mentioned, that we need to go to make sure the island native fruit is actually changed the rest of the way in the game, and you'll find it on the Map tab, under Edit Flags:
Next, you'll need to scroll down a rather long list of in-game flags, until you reach flags 245-249:
You'll need to change the current town fruit (the one you're getting rid of) to "0" for false, and change the new town fruit you want to replace it with, with "1" for true. In the example above, oranges are the town fruit. To change it to cherries, you'd need to change it to 1 after flag 249 (cherries), and 0 after flag 246 (oranges).
Lastly, there's another location on the Map Tab for editing Field Goods:
Here, SpecialtyFruit = your native fruit, and SisterFruit = the secondary fruit for your island that shows up on your rarer Mystery Island tours.
Here are the values for the fruits (flower guide coming shortly) that you should use to change your Specialty and Sister fruits:
2214 - orange
2213 - apple
2287 - cherry
2286 - peach
2285 - pear
Don't forget to save your changes! (Both the flags, and before you exit the editor!)

A new window will pop up that looks like this:
VillageFlower = your town's "native" flower, the main / common flower for your town that starts out growing on your cliffs / shows up on most of your Mystery Island tours

The IDs for flowers are as follows:

Thank you so much! Something else must be doing it though because I don't even have the Nook cheat on (or any cheat for that matter) and my pockets are being limited from 1-20. I have upgraded pockets through legitimate game play so I don't think that's it either. I basically cut and paste the pastebin with all the 12.1 cheats and that's when it started, is it that, do you think? or maybe something else? 20 pockets is very annoying.... lol.. These are the cheats I have. Does anything stand out?

Hey, those codes for 1P are just converted from those for 2P, which are ok. Could you try the empty slots code (even if you see nothing in your 21-40 slots), then give a try with a random spawning code which use a slot between 21-40?

SAME DAY CAMPSITE VILLAGER INJECTION / SWAPPING OUT CAMPSITE VILLAGER
So, I deeply apologize, because it turns out I never posted this when I originally posted the first villager offset findings, which means I've had this information since basically the release of the game and never got to share it (and am frankly surprised no one else released it in my place). Uh, whoops. I totally thought I'd already shared it along with the first villager offsets, because I decrypted both at the same time, but I went back and found my old posts and I had NOT. What the heck, past Cey?
This guide is for SAME DAY villager injection, meaning injecting a villager directly into the campsite when you've already been playing that day and there isn't one already, OR changing the villager that's already there. This bypasses the morning/daily announcement (because it occurs after your announcements from Isabelle), so you won't get the "hey there's someone in the campsite" notification if there wasn't already a camper when you started your day. Yes, there's a way to trigger it from the day before so that you DO get the announcement when you go to the next day, and you can live the full natural experience as it were, and the camper will be completely random, if that's your jam, but that guide has to be posted separately and requires a different method entirely. I do have that information on how to do it already though so stay tuned.
Anyway, this one requires "raw" hex editing through HxD or another program, and cannot be done completely through just the NHSE (except of course to use NHSE to dump the decrypted hex file for you). Let's do it, then!
Open up NHSE and hover over Tools in the top menu and click on Dump Decrypted to decrypt that data, because we're gonna need it to go about editing the game's hex directly:
Go ahead and make a new folder when it asks you where to save it, so you can find all your information easily. The data dump includes your game's overall save file as well as some subfolders containing other misc game save data that NHSE uses. We need "main.dat" to edit the campsite status, and the campsite villager, so that's the only file you need to worry about for editing:
Go ahead and open your main.dat file in your hex editing program of choice, mine is HxD. It'll look like this if you've never seen hex before, look at all that delicious hex, om nom nom nom. You'll probably have less tabs unless you're a tab rat always testing things like me:
You want to find offset 00523D40, and modify the 08, 0C, and 0D bytes, or 00523D48, 00523D4C, and 00523D4D:
00523D48: campsite true/false status, essentially.
03 = there's a camper in the campsite!
02 = there's no camper in the campsite. sad.
To inject a camper that isn't there already, you MUST edit this byte to 03 for the game to even recognize there's supposed to be a villager in the campsite, before it will even acknowledge the villager you edit in. If you just edit bytes 0C and 0D (for the villager ID), the game will ignore you and refuse to properly spawn anyone into the campsite for you. If you're just swapping out a villager that's already in the campsite, this byte will already be 03.
00523D4C and 00523D4D: villager ID values, this is a hex byte pair, and identifies which villager is in the campsite. Fun notes: the values to identify the villager are REVERSED from the values used to identify villagers everywhere else in the game. As per my initial findings way back here, the USUAL format to identify villagers in-game is so:
Villager hex pairs are by SPECIES, VILLAGER ID (thanks to SirVillager for decrypting the species IDs btw) -- so Tutu for instance has species bea07 and would therefore be "01 07" -- 01 to define she's a bear, 07 to tell the game it's the 7th bear (Tutu). E0 09 would be Sherb, 20 11 would be Marshal, and 12 10 would be Reneigh.
A NOTE ABOUT VILLAGER CODES:
In the cases of Villager IDs that go over 09 (for instance, Marshal is squ17 or Squirrel #17), you MUST manually convert them.
EXAMPLE:
Marshal is 20 11, NOT 20 17!
20 = Species ID (Squirrel)
11 = Squirrel #17, because hex counts up as 09, 0A, 0B -- not 09, 10, 11 -- so the 17 MUST be converted to hex, making the 17 actually an 11 -- because you would count it 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 0A, 0B, 0C, 0D, 0E, 0F, 10, 11 (<-- making this the "17th" number), and so on.
Same for Reneigh -- hrs16 -- 12 16 --> becomes 12 10 after conversion.
That said, again, it's ENTIRELY OPPOSITE for the campsite. Hah! Which means Marshal becomes 11 20, not 20 11 anymore, just to throw an extra wrench in.
In the screenshot, you can see the current camper is actually Klaus, 0E 01. He's normally identified by 01 0E, but we have to swap those values to basically "turn him into" a camper villager ID. NOT to be confused with normal villager ID 0E 01, which would be NAN, who would then be 01 0E in the campsite bytes.
If that didn't make your head spin, enjoy injecting campers into your campsite or swapping out the ones already there.
Tip! To remove a villager from your campsite, change 00523D48 to 02 and your villager ID bytes, 00523D4C and 00523D4D, to 00 00. Ta-da, camper deleted.

The data dump includes your game's overall save file as well as some subfolders containing other misc game save data that NHSE uses. We need "main.dat" to edit the campsite status, and the campsite villager, so that's the only file you need to worry about for editing:
Go ahead and open your main.dat file in your hex editing program of choice, mine is HxD. It'll look like this if you've never seen hex before, look at all that delicious hex, om nom nom nom. You'll probably have less tabs unless you're a tab rat always testing things like me:
You want to find offset 00523D40, and modify the 08, 0C, and 0D bytes, or 00523D48, 00523D4C, and 00523D4D:
00523D48: campsite true/false status, essentially.
03 = there's a camper in the campsite!
02 = there's no camper in the campsite. sad.
To inject a camper that isn't there already, you MUST edit this byte to 03 for the game to even recognize there's supposed to be a villager in the campsite, before it will even acknowledge the villager you edit in. If you just edit bytes 0C and 0D (for the villager ID), the game will ignore you and refuse to properly spawn anyone into the campsite for you. If you're just swapping out a villager that's already in the campsite, this byte will already be 03.
00523D4C and 00523D4D: villager ID values, this is a hex byte pair, and identifies which villager is in the campsite. Fun notes: the values to identify the villager are REVERSED from the values used to identify villagers everywhere else in the game. As per my initial findings way back here, the USUAL format to identify villagers in-game is so:
Villager hex pairs are by SPECIES, VILLAGER ID (thanks to SirVillager for decrypting the species IDs btw) -- so Tutu for instance has species bea07 and would therefore be "01 07" -- 01 to define she's a bear, 07 to tell the game it's the 7th bear (Tutu). E0 09 would be Sherb, 20 11 would be Marshal, and 12 10 would be Reneigh.
A NOTE ABOUT VILLAGER CODES:
In the cases of Villager IDs that go over 09 (for instance, Marshal is squ17 or Squirrel #17), you MUST manually convert them.
EXAMPLE:
Marshal is 20 11, NOT 20 17!
20 = Species ID (Squirrel)
11 = Squirrel #17, because hex counts up as 09, 0A, 0B -- not 09, 10, 11 -- so the 17 MUST be converted to hex, making the 17 actually an 11 -- because you would count it 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 0A, 0B, 0C, 0D, 0E, 0F, 10, 11 (<-- making this the "17th" number), and so on.
Same for Reneigh -- hrs16 -- 12 16 --> becomes 12 10 after conversion.
That said, again, it's ENTIRELY OPPOSITE for the campsite. Hah! Which means Marshal becomes 11 20, not 20 11 anymore, just to throw an extra wrench in.
In the screenshot, you can see the current camper is actually Klaus, 0E 01. He's normally identified by 01 0E, but we have to swap those values to basically "turn him into" a camper villager ID. NOT to be confused with normal villager ID 0E 01, which would be NAN, who would then be 01 0E in the campsite bytes.
If that didn't make your head spin, enjoy injecting campers into your campsite or swapping out the ones already there.
Tip! To remove a villager from your campsite, change 00523D48 to 02 and your villager ID bytes, 00523D4C and 00523D4D, to 00 00. Ta-da, camper deleted.

OH YEAH. Don't forget to Load Decrypted through NHSE once you're done editing your main.dat, and then save your NHSE session before trying to inject your save on your console.

Has anyone ever heard of former villagers from your island randomly showing up in open plots of people who've visited? and then the villager says they're from your island? I have never heard of this before and someone just explained to me this very same scenario. Curious if it's actually a thing or if it has something to do with switching out villagers (never in boxes) through NHSE. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Yes, actually I myself had this many times. But I only visited the island of my friend one time when he had his 2 starter villagers.
So it could be something like a online feature.
Hello everyone. I want Cherries. That is all I am trying to do is get a single Cherry so I can complete my fruit collection.
I've read and looked up just about everything I could before finally resorting to asking for help on this posting. I can get several of the cheats to work in 1.10.0, but have not yet been able to get a single item to generate/spawn/appear in my pockets no matter what I've tried. I've used the various cheats posted in the last couple of pages (walking through walls while holding 'L' worked, unlock all reactions worked, and 5x animation speed worked) but not a single item x in slot x will work for me.
I noticed on mpql.net when I was trying for the 20x time to generate a Cherry that when you have more than 1 human player on your island, the offsets for player 1 and 4 are swapped. So I've also tried generating the cherry code for 'Player 4'. It seems like you have to select a 'activate button' on mpql.net, so I selected 'ZR'. Here is my most recent attempt:

I was able to get Poker to work after the last hour or two trying to get it to connect (USB wouldn't work, so finally went network).
I've only turned the wifi on on my switch one other time, to play locally with a friend to get Pears! Hopefully 90DNS did it's thing. But either way, so stoked to have some Cherries finally!
Would have preferred to get the cheats to work so as to avoid wifi, but Poker worked perfectly after connecting. So thanks for the suggestion Xjackio!

This is a pretty niche guide, and a re-do of one I did for ACNL way back -- but for those of you who need to know how to properly bury items with NHSE with the flag system for whatever reason your little heart desires, here you go. It at least especially bothered me that there wasn't a buried item tutorial anywhere that I could find, sans a small mention of how to use the 04 flags in one of Klutch Gaming's video guides (thanks Klutch!), and if there's at least one other person out there that puts this to use, that's enough.
Pull up your save file in NHSE, and go to the Map Tab. You want to click on the Edit Map button in the lower right corner, and on the dropdown menu that appears, click on Edit Field Items like so:
Here, you'll need to navigate around on the map to the place you want to bury the item, so we'll pick this spot here by this pond on mine:
Then you'll need to look up the item you want to bury and have it selected in the Item Field, like so. I'm going to bury me a Pompompurin Bed, just like the old days, because it's CUTE, that's all that matters:
So, to actually bury the items, we need to edit the flag0 field you see. You can use the following flag numbers to bury your items, depending on what items they are:
24 -- clothing, furniture
04 -- pretty much everything else (crafting materials, fossils, etc)
So for the Pompompurin Bed, you'd use flag0 number 24:
If you happen to bury clothing or furniture with the 04 tag, it will leave your item above ground, sitting on top of a dirt star where it SHOULD be buried (and isn't). Make sure to change those to 24 to properly bury them in-game, or else you'll be ripping your hair out like me wondering why my items aren't burying so I can just surprise my partner already with cute things, but I digress.
You then need to "Set" the item on the map where you want to bury it, by right clicking on the spot you want to bury and then selecting Set on the dropdown menu, like so:
And you'll see an "x" on the item square in the map, signifying that the item is buried. I should note this X appears even if you bury the item with the wrong flag, so don't use it as a way to let you know you buried the item correctly with the right flag. You'll need to manually make sure the flag is correct.
You need to repeat these steps for each and every item you want to bury (it goes faster if you're burying the same item over and over because you won't need to change the item or flags as frequently), but it's ultimately still faster than burying by hand.
Don't forget to save your changes on both the Field Item editor AND the NHSE itself, and inject them!
