yes before the gba temp forums shut down i was gonna say that someone even asked if the DS can play playstation games, i don't know if anyone remembered that one XD.

Back on topic, I'm wondering if this sort of ignorance (which of course stems from the widespread ease of availability and accessibility these days) will bring things to a head and finally prompt some sort of major action on Nintendo's behalf? It's long overdue.

I believe there was a time when people understood what they were getting into, and knew that their actions had consequences and risks associated with them, and were aware of the illegality of it all. These days you see people (usually of the pre-teen/teen variety, but certainly not confined to that age group) who do not understand that piracy is a privilege, all they know is that they can play games (which are damn easy to get a hold of with a minimum amount of searching) for free on their console, all just by purchasing a small device. (or getting their mommy or daddy to do so, who are only too happy to because they are even more uninformed and don't understand legal implications or just don't care because it means they won't have to buy any more games)

That's what happens when something goes from hardcore to mainstream. Now, lots of people know about homebrew, it's cheap, and it works. So of course dumbasses will discuss it on Nintendo's own forums.

Because here have been 4000+ topics on it, and sometimes that very same question is on the same page they're at, yet they still post the question.

I've been banned at least 20 times on nsider. But... there are so many little kids! And its hilarious to see all the innuendos they don't understand!

no flame intended, but for the amptor (and maybe not other people) I would think it'd be lame if I got banned from a corporate web site. also discussing piracy on one is a bad idea. I mean it obviously is not there for that. Sony does not allow any talk about homebrew on their forum any more and it makes sense to censor it. Administrators have full control over the content of their site, if people don't like it they can take a hike. Freedom of speech only goes so far when a private corporation owns the media, they have the right to dictate and control what is on it. Practically every forum operates that way. My ideal of tyrant adminnage only occurs when the admin does something with bad judgement, such as throw a fit because someone disagrees with his opinion on something that is not related to the rules of the forum or ban someone from a game who MIGHT be crashing the game but has not been proven beyond a doubt. Of course, in the latter, it can be a precaution since that user (usually me) is fooling around too much

I never discussed homebrew.

My >20 bans came from making topics w/ titles like "Girls" and seeing how many views per second they get. I also trolled a lot.

With a few exceptions, the dumbest, most uncreative, untalented people i have ever encountered on a forum i am a member of has to be this one and a couple of others that will remain unnamed. Why are most gamers such thick idiots ? It makes me cringe when i think that i have helped develop for a target audience such as this, but then we all need to get paid right.

You probably say why come here then, well, it's not entirely bad, the admins seem sound and it's a nice resource for news and such and occasionaly there's an intersting discussion debated with a level of inteligence higher than a chicken. But reading comments and alot of user posted threads is often a worryingly hillarious rigmarole.
