I have a nano 2nd gen, with a similar problem - worked perfectly then suddenly started playing up - song timer wouldn't move from '0' and if you skipped to a different part of the song it would skip to the next track then suddenly to the next and so on until it had gone through the playlist. Only way I could sort it out was to format the ipod on my pc and put the music back on. [IMG]

While were at it, I have an iPod problem too. I have an old iPod Photo that's been a acting a little weird. It charges and starts up fine, the hold button works, it's not frozen or anything, but the scrolling wheel and all buttons are unresponsive. Is there anyway to reset those or troubleshoot the problem?

Actually, the new Trekstor Vibez has recently caught my eye. I still want to resurrect this semi-dead iPod, though. The buttons seem to work once in a blue moon, and I have to press on them pretty hard when they do seem work, but most of the time, the buttons don't work. V_V

I've resurrected a few iPods where only one or two quadrants of the scroll wheel would work. An iPod updater/ software update cleared up the problems. This sounds similar, and is a free "solution" if it works...

Well said. ZEN Vision: M > Ipods in every way. Both players have those freezing problems but luckily Zen has a hard reset button and fixes itself in a few mins.

Go to you G:***'s iPod. Make all folders unhidden. There should be something called "iPod_Control". This is ALL your music/videos on your iPod. Save these (back-up, FREE) asnd let iTunes manage the music. Muic and videos recovered. Reset your iPod to factory settings. Place iTunes library onto iPod. Any questions, PM me.

Ipodz may be kewler and more popular but they have bad sound quality compared to Zen. Zens also have sound recording and and FM Radio. I hate Mainstream..

The iPod is mainstream because of its interface and accessibility. Nothing wrong with mainstream... I've used many MP3 players over the years, and have stuck with the iPod because it does exactly what I need it to do.

Because it's so popular, I can get accessories they will never offer for other MP3 players. I use a waterproof motorcycle-mounted RF remote control - is this available for any other MP3 player?

But iPhone? No thanks! My WM5 phone (PPC-6700) does everything I need... It will work fine for music too, I can even listen to Shoutcast over Bluetooth stereophones...

well thats i nice friend isn't it *sarcasm*

I had a shuffle, died in 6 months, got it replaced and then the battery ran out a couple of months after that. Never buying one again.

NTM that they are waaay overpriced. screen sucks, battery sucks. u pay purely for the brandname.

And iphone looks really bad and is terribly overpriced.
