And what if I have a 3DS and want to use an emu, but I'm not interested in wasting money?
Hmm...
A smartphone is something everyone should have simply because they're cheap and helpful.
They can run many more emulators and games than a 3DS can ever hope to do. We're like four years in and the 3DS does... uh... NES games at 10FPS.

Again. Call me when homebrew is useful.

Look who's speculating this time?
And who even said I wanted emus in the first place? I'm more interested in Region Free, custom themes and user-made games.

And why are you moaning about how 3DS Homebrew doesn't satisfy your very specific needs in the 3DS Homebrew section?

Hyperbole, anyone?

Homebrew expands what a console can actually do. On 3DS thing seems sloppy by now, but when homebrew exploded on Wii things went CRAZY.

Also, look at my signature, i use no emulator that can't reach 60 fps on 3DS. Fuck off.

Frame skip isn't 60FPS.

Again. What can homebrew do here?
Backup loading? Nope.

That's what defines useful hacking. Fuck the stupid eShop system that has no account and expects me to rebuy the same games.

I have emulators too on my smartphone but the only annoying thing is you cant play well with touchscreen, I know there are android controllers but i have no intention to buy it.

Hopefully catsfc will be improved for kernel aswell before new year.

How is this a dark time? We have more entry points than we could possibly need right now, and no one's forcing you to update if Nintendo comes out with an update that blocks both themehax and browserhax. oothax and smashbroshax can't be patched with a system update. Actually smashbroshax might be patchable, but oothax definitely isn't, unless they find a way to completely block all homebrew.

@The Minish LAN You're just blowing things way out of proportion.

Second degree *hax will still need an initial entry point, and we'll be out of initial entry points besides CN if browserhax gets patched.

Why would the DSi and Wii get an update? It would be pointless. The Nintendo CWF has been shut down for over a year now, and those consoles are basically "dead". Nintendo even releases DS and Wii games on the Wii U...
For the 3DS, honestly, it's not a problem. You always need to confirm you want to update your system, and a lot of times, so if you update, it's that you want it. And even if TubeHax itself is dead, the DNS itself is still usable at the moment, and it blocks access to Nintendo Servers. So...
And they can't patch SmashHax nor OOT3Dhax. It's "easy" to update a download app, but they can't burn those patches into your cartridge. The worst thing that can happen is that they "patch" the new prints of the game, but the ones you keep in your shelf will be forever an entrypoint.
As for the Wii U... Yes, it is a bit more problematic. Guess I will just have to disconnect it from the Internet now.

You'll still have smashbroshax most likely. Obviously if you're worried about losing first degree *hax, then you should install second-degree hax before updating.

Besides, it's already been said that we're drowning in entry points. If browserhax and themehax are patched that'll just be the cue for people to start releasing more entry points.

Piracy is not useful. It's piracy.

Also, Retroarch has not frameskip implemented. Now shut up.
Who said piracy?
It's "piracy" for me to want to play legally made backups of my games so I don't have to lug a million carts around?

I can guarantee you it is indeed utilizing frame skip. There is NO way that's 60FPS.

It'll still work though.
If you all have Gateway, all you need to do is somehow get Cubic Ninja online with a .cia file. It isn't piracy if you don't actually play the game or have bought it like I have. It broke, so I downloaded it online. CN will work still. ( Is the update up and ready to install...? )

In certain countries, and I can guarantee you're in one of them, that's still illegal.
Now shut up already.

Actually he's right you massive idiot. RetroArch has no frame skip. Even gpSP runs 60 fps on n3DS and Genesis games are running 60 on o3DS. You might want to do a little research before making yourself look stupid.

Now you said piracy:P
It's illegal to copy games and make backups as software is not yours. You just have the right to play the game and use gamecart.
