1) YouTube has 60FPS videos.
2) That video works fine.
3) It is. I run the damn thread.
1) Very few videos do 60FPS and have to be uploaded in a special format.
2) It wasn't at the time I posted that.
3) You run the thread. You are not the programmer and apparently have a severe eyesight problem to think it's a legitimate 60FPS.

Both. Seems as if Nintendo is seeking Homebrew users first, pirates second, and lastly people who block said updates with other means.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Didn't I inform you that Nintendo make kernel access nearly impossible, thus we cannot exceed high FPS rates. This is not the developers' fault. It's Nintendo. Stop harassing people with your " Homebrew sucks" posts. We are lucky to have the access to it that we have now rather than have none at all.
Indeed, my emulators run 60FPS as CIAs. So do Virtual Console games, which are basically ROMs wrapped in Nintendo branded emulators.

Nintendo has a history of not patching Sky3ds. So either this update will patch it, or Nintendo is being lazy.
Well, can they even patch it? I mean, if it behaves exactly like a normal cartridge how can they know which game is a legit one and which one is played on a Sky? And if they could do that, why would they have developed a new AP that prevents their new games from being used on Sky?

Plenty of YT videos use 60fps. Unless you're referring to the 1990's YouTube poops you've been watching on your computer.

If the new version is so radically different, I wouldn't be surprised if it was 11.0.
3DS doesn't auto update and there's no way they could make it auto update since changing to a new online infrastructure would entail large changes to the EULA.
They can't legally change a license agreement without prompting for you to agree to it again (in fact you actually are supposed to be 18 or older to even update a 3DS).

Well if I'm wrong I do have a SysNAND backup and the skills to hardmod my system.
I should also make an EmuNAND backup before this update drops just in case.

Nevermind, I just realized my previous post was incorrect.
This is *NOT* a firmware update. This is just an update on Nintendo's end - the servers. The way our consoles connect to the internet isn't going to change - the way they handle requests is. I'm sure a proper firmware update will be rolled out soon, but this is not it.

1) You just need to upload an HD video that's 60FPS. No special format.
2) I don't care. That's not my fault your internet is shit.
3) I speak with the devs often and use it myself. It's 60.

I might be wrong on this, but headers, for one. If they do use headers, that's an easy one to declare an illegal ROM or a legit copy. But I use Gateway.

YT videos that aren't even loading? Wow, you showed me.
Too bad YT is 30FPS though. :P

It isn't a legitimate 60FPS. Sorry to tell you that.
Your inability to tell the difference between 60FPS and 30FPS really makes you sound like one of those console peasants.

Why don't you stop being a tool and actually load up some of the retroarch emu's yourself - you will see that a lot of them DO run a majority of games at a true 60fps (as true as is possible on the 3ds - it's actually 59.98x or something).

Well, headers are never illegal in themselves afaik, they are just made public ; all of those public headers come from a legit cartridge... I think Nintendo can just identify people using the same header and banning them from the online services...

It's a feature they added last year and again, very few videos use it.
Go back to watching things on your Xbox 30FPS, or something. Apparently your cataracts are too severe to know what 60FPS is.

There is no emergency. If you already have ironhax, just don't update and you'll be fine. We still have browserhax and themehax. I think most homebrewers know not to update unless absolutely needed.

Confirmed Facts:
  • Tubehax is patched and auto-updates itself. No workaround.
  • Ironhax is patched. Don't update the game and you're fine.
  • Nintendo Servers are going down for maintenance on Oct 19 (1pm-5pm PST)
Informed Guesses:
  • The update will likely include the launch of Nintendo's new online membership service (source)
Pure Speculation:
  • OOT3dHax patched? Maybe, but it would be an optional update.
  • SmashHax patched? Maybe, but it would be an optional update.
  • ThemeHax patched? Who knows! Maybe?
  • BrowserHax patched? Who knows! Maybe?
  • WiiU 5.5 Kernel exploit patch? Who knows! Maybe?

Now everyone stop freaking out, settle down, and wait to see what happens. @The Minish LAN Shame on you for fear-mongering and sensationalizing.

Actually Ironhax, Smashhax, Ninjhax, and OoThax will work fine on the new firmware as of now.

You make a lot of insults based on vision. But regardless, you'd be the one seeing wrong. Many famous Tubers such as Markiplier, PDP, and so many others use common technology and upload 60 FPS videos daily. But if following up on people like that is your thing rather than watching an noob's tutorial on how to be a complete nit-wit..
