Amazon has phased out passwords in favor of 2FA codes

I was just logging in to my Amazon account, so I expected email + pass, but I just inserted the email and then the next page asked for my 2FA code.

I mean, I like this system although passwords should still be usable (I assume they are if I didn't use 2FA).



Tech Linus was right.

but the passwords are "dying" some authentication now use Paraphrases (long passwords based on sentences)
Brave does that.

I don't care much for the BAT rewards anymore, but rather the Brave ecosystem works pretty nicely. If only it'd get add-on support on Android (to use Sponsorblock on YouTube).

Yeah, Amazon's system will sometimes skip asking for a password if you have 2FA enabled and you're logging in from a recognized device or network. It’s a bit of a streamlined process, and you can still use your password if needed. It’s nice that they prioritize security with 2FA, though!
