Okay, so back when the Wii was in the 4.1 days, I used a tutorial found here, here, and here, and updated the HBC before updating to 4.2 by way of Nintendo and didn't brick. I haven't messed around with IOSs or anything like that, so I just want to know if I'm all updated to do stuff like StartPatch or SNEEK or bootmii (if that's not already on, I installed the stuff like, 10 months ago).
When did you buy your Wii? The safest version of bootmii won't work on newer models. As for if you're fully updated, well, it's not critical, but you're missing 4.2:

Like that post says, though, you'll need to trucha patch IOS70 using DOP-IOS after updating:

Well I got my Wii in 2007, or at least before Brawl was released. I also downloaded 4.2 from Nintendo (officially), but since I updated the HBC before that with the 4.2 workaround thing, the HBC was still there after updating, and the Wii didn't brick.
So all I really need to do is patch using DOP-IOS, then?
