Gaming Am I in the clear to use physical Pokemon games to obtain Mystery Gifts in 11.8?

I've have been collecting the legendary Pokemon via Mystery Gifts on my physical cartridges. I am wondering if v11.8 update is going to cause issues with this?

Never dumped anything, so digital CIAs do not apply to me I believed.
