Write. Best thing in the world to clear your head, plus you can submit short stories to magazines for some extra cash.
And don't forget that you will always have us to help you out.

We all feel lonely, depressed, unhappy at some points in our life.
You're not a "fag" for tellin' us about how ya feel right now; better than keeping it to yourself...you'll just have to pray about it, and you've always got someone over the internet to talk to, but that probably isn't an equal substitution...
There are plenty of fishies in the sea, plenty of friends to make...

And yeah, chill with mthrnite one weekend, he's one hell of a cool dude.

Seriously now, find something productive and set easy goals that you think you can do for the next few weeks/month (if you want to do something really hard and it doesn't turn out well it might make things worse so just go little by little).
Find something that motivates you and stick with for a while, and see if it makes things better, if not rinse and repeat.

And if you feel like crap you can always think that lots more people have it worse than you so things will turn out well eventually (not trying to hurt anyone, just comparing yourself to others can make you realize that sometimes your problems aren't that big).

i get what your going through right now in a slightly lesser degree since my parents took me away from england for me to study i egypt for 2 years
its really hard on me since i spend all my time either studying or on the computer an di have no life whatsoever besides that
i went to school for 1 year so i could do my A levels but now all i do is study arabic, religion and teh quran with a private tutor at home...
i have no real friends in my area and i was a bit depressed a while back because all my friends were never on msn and i thought they were avoiding me.
the person i considered one of my best friends didnt want to have anything to do with me anymore which was the worst blow and i was really saddened by that.
all you have to do is look forward to the silver lining and not let life get you down.
my silver lining is that ill be back in london by the coming summer, with or without my parents

Cheer up. Listen to music, work out (a martial art is good), write, draw maybe. Do something, don't just sit down and be gloomy. It's a downward spiral, and you have to break by doing something out of the ordinairy, you have to change your routine.

And remember, we're all here, to provide insipid comments, dubious advice, and unrelated cat pictures

Well, guys I really wanna thank you all. Really, to be honest, for good or bad GBATemp.net is a big part of my life (lately more than ever).
You people are my friends, so I cannot say I'm alone, I know this is the Internet, but I truly feel there are good people behind your keyboards and your posts.

All I can say is that whenever you need a friend or even someone to talk to, count me in.

Again, thanks people, all your comments really meant a lot to me.

PS: I got a job FT!!!, I'll start on monday, yay!!!

You're not alone VVoltz, you have us!

but seriously - I know how it feels, I lived in the country for a year with no one around..mind you that's nothing compared to your situation.

Take up mthrnite on his offer, he seems like a really great guy.

Do you feel like meeting new people? Not sure how to go about that in America or if you'd want to. Maybe some other yanks can help you out.

Try and do something that you love or gets you motivated. Whether it be a hobby, job or whatever. Those kind of things helped me heaps when I was feeling depressed.

Well that's my advice...even if it's not too great

.

Keep us updated on how you're going. Things will get better bro!

edit: awesome you got a job, that should help things a fair bit. I'm sure you'll meet some people at work and hopefully they're cool. Good luck with everything

You should take up some cheap classes in something fun. That is always a good way to meet people. Martial arts, dancing, surfing, book club... Whatever interests you!

You know what, maybe your local community center has some programs you can attend to meet people, that's how I get friends now. Although most of them are weirdos, some are really kind hearted people who want to contribute to the community.

This will get easier with time. Right now you are away from everything that felt like home and it's going to feel weird and lonely for a while. You have to build a new sense of home where you are and that takes time. If you're open enough to meeting new people and making new connections that should happen on it's own and since you landed a job you can start saving up so you can spend your vacation time in your old home.

I felt the way you do when I first went to college and I'm about to move and feel that way again. You don't have to feel embarrassed about it. I think everyone goes through it nowadays that people have to bounce around the world for their careers.

Feel better!

GET.. YOUR.. ASS.. DOWN.. HERE!

Anyway... I know what you're going through too. My dog died when I was 10. Not only that, but I'm the youngest in my family. That means I've had to watch 3 brothers and 2 sisters leave the house for college. It's bad enough watching everyone else leave, but I'm next. Makes me kinda worried...

But I guess we all get through it somehow. When I think about that stuff, I like to listen to music and kill zombies in Resident Evil 4.

Though I'm not sure zombie killing goes in the therapy category.

The guy on Rune Factory (Emmit?) said that cleaning a class with a cloth can get kinda zen like. I haven't tried it myself, but it's a possibility...

And yes, my advice isn't the greatest =) Just find something, ANYTHING to do. You also said you got a job. So good luck with that!

If you were in Los Angeles area, i'd invite you to go play some paintball or something
frown.gif

Damn.

Keep your mind occupied with a hobby or something. And go out more and just talk to random people, so you can make friends
biggrin.gif
Head on down to PC cafe's and talk there. Chances are that you'll fit right in
wink.gif
it helps alot to just not stay home and do something. Walk instead of driving to get some exercise and save some gas. Plus you'll see thing aloooot differently and meet new people and see new places

I typically have some cool posts, but...
I feel alone...., and I mean for real.
Right now I'm living in America, and it's the first time I'm away from my parents and friends.

I can almost read it already: "What a fag" and I truly don't care, it is my nature now to be as open and communicative I can, and I thing this will do for now....

I've been living here for a whole year now, with my aunt and her family, an uncle and a cousin, she is 16, and no, she is not "teh hot", they are great, but they are going trough lots of problems so the atmosphere here isn't the best. I'm starting to feel terrible....
shy.gif

No friends here, no g/f she is in Bolivia, our situation isn't clear, she is suppose to come so I'm truly faithful with her... and I'm really starting to feel a lot down lately....
The only thing I'm doing here is an Internship at the GWU, unpaid, I teach on saturdays, I'm looking for a job, but no news lately...

I'm alone and I feel.... depressed.
Well, that's it. Laugh all that you want, had to take it out of my chest. And no, I'm not joking, no backfire on sarcastic jokes.

Edit: Typos, and no, I'm not emo, just wanted to share, that I'm starting to feel depressed.

Gutted.
