I am preparing to do the CFW on my new 3ds system using the `all versions` method from 3ds.hacks.guide.com. I own a brand new R4 Gold plus with the magnet.

For installing ntrboot, on step 2 it saids to 'Insert your device's SD card into your computer (this is the SD card from your 3DS, not the SD card from your flashcart)'

I do not understand. My 3ds only has micro sdhc card, not a sd card. And my R4 Gold plus did not come with a micro sd card although it has a slot for one.

Does it mean that I am supposed to use the pre-existing micro sdhc card in my 3ds, put the files on it, and then place the micro sdhc card into my flash cart when I 're-insert the card into the device' on step 7?

U need a MicroSD card+SDHC adapter to put on computer or a SDHC card,if u have a micro SD,u'll need a SDHC adapter to plug on computer or a pendrive micro sd adapter

    Just to illustrate,the first one is a SDHC,the second,a MicroSD+SDHC adapter

What about when I plug my micro sdcard into the new 3ds for step 7? Do I use the flashcart for that? Or do I plug the microsdard into the 3ds native slot?

Thanks. Just to confirm, I still copy all the files over to a micro sdcard and insert the micro sd card into the R4 flashcart, right?

into the flashcard the only thing it'll go is the kernel to play DS games. All the ntrboot files go on 3ds native SD card

But the 3ds native SD card goes into the R4 flashcart, right?

You do not need any micro-SD inside the flashcart – this is completely optional. ntrboohax is on the internal flash memory of the R4.

I tried to put the setup in a picture. Some comments:
    • Again: The micro-SD for the flashcart is optional.
    • I do not have the R4i Gold 3DS Plus – but the older model without internal switch.
    • To make use of the normal DS software function set internal switch back to "D" after installing the custom firmware on the 3DS.
    ntrboot_setup.

Edit: Damn! Typo in the picture and I cannot modify this anymore:

    ntrboohax →ntrboothax

Wow, thank you taking the time to do that! Very helpful!

One last question, hopefully.... With the finalization step where I place the software FBI, checkpoint, etc.... will that go on the flashcart or the internal micro sd card?
